I have been in the Ambulance service for 25 years, during which time I have served as an Air Ambulance Paramedic with the Dorset/Somerset Air Ambulance, based at Henstridge for 4 years, dealing with a wide range of incidents, whether they were agricultural, town or sports based.

 

During my service I have also held the role of a First Aid at Work Instructor and also as part of the income generation programme, I have supported major events as the Paramedic on duty. For 10 years I was a Clinical Support Officer, often first on scene dealing with serious incidents.

 

During the time spent as a Clinical Support Officer, I was also training students and Ambulance staff in clinical matters.

When I left the service in 2011, I went to work in Tanzania for 7 years, Looking after the oil and gas personal. During this time I was teaching several companies in first aid, organizing first aid response teams. Tanzanian prison service, Traffic Police and the war correspondents from the Congo.

 

My career has been far reaching in the emergency care role, dealing with minor to major incidents. With the experience  that I have gained over many years, my present training role is aimed at passing as much knowledge as possible to others.
